The Kaufmann Double-Wall Tumbler (Grey Lid) is a professional-grade thermal vessel engineered for superior temperature retention in demanding outdoor and transit environments. Utilizing advanced vacuum-insulation technology, this tumbler is designed to maintain the integrity of both hot and cold beverages for extended periods, making it an essential tool for long-haul travel, site inspections, and remote field work.
Technical Specifications
- Construction: Double-wall food-grade 18/8 Stainless Steel.
- Insulation Type: High-performance vacuum seal (eliminates thermal transfer).
- Lid Type: Spill-resistant, BPA-free clear acrylic with a Grey sliding closure.
- Capacity: Typically available in 350ml (12oz) or 600ml (20oz) variants.
- Finish: Durable, powder-coated exterior for enhanced grip and scratch resistance.
- Compatibility: Tapered base designed to fit most standard vehicle and equipment cup holders.
Key Performance Features
- Extreme Thermal Retention: The vacuum-sealed double wall keeps beverages hot for up to 6 hours and ice-cold for up to 12 hours, regardless of external environmental temperatures.
- Sweat-Proof Design: The insulation prevents condensation from forming on the exterior. This ensures a secure grip and prevents moisture damage when placed on technical drawings, notebooks, or sensitive electronic equipment.
- Grey Sliding Lid: The ergonomic lid features a smooth-action sliding mechanism that protects the drink from dust and debris while reducing heat loss. The grey colorway offers a professional, low-vis aesthetic suitable for corporate or industrial settings.
- Electropolished Interior: The high-quality stainless steel interior is non-porous and resists the absorption of odors or flavors, allowing for a seamless transition between coffee, tea, or water without lingering aftertastes.
- Rugged Durability: Built to withstand the physical impacts of life in a utility crate or bakkie load bin, the powder-coated finish resists chipping and fading even under high-UV exposure.
Professional Usage & Care Tips
- Thermal Priming: For maximum performance, “pre-heat” the tumbler with boiling water or “pre-chill” it with ice water for 2 minutes before filling it with your actual beverage.
- Vacuum Integrity: To ensure the longevity of the vacuum seal, avoid placing the tumbler in the dishwasher or microwave. High-heat cycles in a dishwasher can eventually compromise the structural bond between the steel walls.
- Lid Maintenance: Periodically remove the silicone gasket from the grey lid and clean it with warm soapy water and a soft cloth to prevent the buildup of residues.
- Safe Transport: While the sliding lid is spill-resistant and excellent for reducing splashes in a moving vehicle, it is not 100% leak-proof if inverted. Always store the tumbler upright when full.
- Surface Care: Use a non-abrasive sponge for cleaning the powder-coated exterior to maintain the professional matte finish and prevent micro-scratches.
Common Use Cases
- Logistics & Transit: Maintaining beverage temperature during long-distance delivery or commute cycles.
- On-Site Management: A durable, dust-protected drinking vessel for construction, mining, or agricultural foremen.
- Remote Operations: Reliable thermal storage for field researchers or technicians working away from base facilities.
- Professional Gifting: A high-utility, branded item for corporate kits and outdoor-focused professional gear sets.
Pro Tip: If you are operating in high-dust environments this April 2026, the sliding grey lid is your primary defense against airborne particles. Between sips, ensure the slider is clicked firmly into the closed position. The 18/8 stainless steel construction is also 100% recyclable, making it a sustainable alternative to single-use plastics for large-scale industrial sites and professional offices.
