Dromex Workwear Socks are specifically engineered to complement industrial safety footwear. Unlike standard socks, they are designed to handle the friction of heavy leather boots and the perspiration challenges of long shifts in the South African climate.
Key Features
- Reinforced Heel and Toe: These areas are prone to wear in steel-toe boots, so Dromex uses high-density stitching to prevent holes.
- Moisture Management: Made with breathable fibers (often a cotton/polyester/elastane blend) that wick sweat away, helping to prevent fungal infections and blisters.
- Cushioned Sole: Provides an extra layer of shock absorption, which is vital for workers standing on hard concrete surfaces all day.
- Elasticated Arch Support: Helps keep the sock in place, preventing it from “bunching up” inside the boot—a common cause of discomfort.
- Antimicrobial Treatment: Many models feature an anti-odor finish to keep feet fresher during 12-hour shifts.
Pro-Tip: The “Two-Pair” Rule
For workers in extremely wet or hot environments, it is often recommended to keep a spare pair of Dromex socks in a locker. Changing into a fresh, dry pair during a lunch break can significantly reduce the risk of “trench foot” and maintain foot health over a long career.
