Mig Wire Xtraweld 2 Er70s _ 6 1,2mm 15kg Premium

The Xtraweld 2 Premium 1.2mm MIG Wire is a heavy-duty, copper-coated solid wire engineered for the most demanding South African structural and heavy engineering sectors. Classified under the ER70S-6 specification, it contains the highest levels of Manganese and Silicon, making it the primary choice for welding thick-gauge steel with mill scale or surface contaminants. The 1.2mm diameter is the "workhorse" size for high-amperage industrial welding, providing the high deposition rates required for large-scale production, heavy machinery fabrication, and structural beam assembly.

Key Performance Features

• Maximum Deposition Efficiency: The 1.2mm gauge allows for high-current welding (up to 350A+), enabling rapid filling of large fillet and butt joints in fewer passes.
• ER70S-6 "Deep-Clean" Chemistry: Formulated to maintain a stable, fluid weld pool that floats out impurities, ensuring X-ray quality results on heavy structural sections.
• Precision Copper-Wash Coating: Features an ultra-uniform copper layer that provides superior electrical conductivity and prevents "micro-corrosion" in humid coastal or industrial environments.
• High-Strength Precision Spooling: Precision-layer wound on a reinforced 15kg spool to ensure consistent, snag-free feeding even through longer 4m or 5m MIG torches.

Ideal Applications

• Heavy Structural Steelwork: The industry standard for fabricating heavy I-beams, columns, and large-scale trusses for South African industrial warehouses.
• Mining & Earthmoving Manufacture: Ideal for the fabrication of heavy-duty buckets, chassis components, and specialized underground mining infrastructure.
• Heavy Agricultural Implements: The preferred wire for manufacturing high-stress equipment such as multi-row ploughs, large trailers, and grain bins.
• Pressure Vessel & Tank Fabrication: Suitable for high-integrity circumferential and longitudinal welds on heavy-walled tanks and industrial silos.

Product Benefits

• Exceptional Arc Stability: Specifically engineered to provide a smooth, consistent arc with minimal spatter at high voltages, significantly reducing post-weld grinding time.
• Versatile Gas Compatibility: Optimized for use with Argon/CO2 shielding gas mixtures (Magmix) for smooth beads, or pure CO2 for maximum penetration on very thick plate.
• Industrial-Grade Reliability: Designed for 100% duty-cycle environments where wire-feed consistency and electrical pick-up are critical to productivity.

Pro Tip: For optimal results with 1.2mm wire on 10mm+ plate, ensure your welding machine is set between 240A and 320A. At these high amperages, always use a Heavy-Duty 36KD or 501D Water-Cooled Torch to prevent overheating. To maintain a smooth feed, ensure your drive rolls are specifically grooved for 1.2mm wire and keep your liner clean to prevent "bird-nesting" at the wire feeder.
