The Red Top Disposable Fly Catcher is a high-capacity, all-in-one suppression unit specifically engineered for the South African agricultural, equestrian, and industrial sectors. Unlike the reusable 3L or 8L units, this "Disposable" version is the primary choice for operators who require maximum fly reduction without the need for cleaning or servicing. Featuring a factory-sealed bait system, it is designed to be activated with water, hung in a problem area, and simply discarded once full—making it the ideal solution for high-volume sites where staff time is at a premium.
Key Performance Features
- Integrated Extra-Strength Bait: Contains a pre-measured sachet of non-toxic, pheromone-rich attractant that is factory-sealed inside the bag for "no-mess" activation.
- One-Way "No-Exit" Entry System: Features a precision-molded top cap with a specialized entrance that allows flies to follow the scent in but prevents them from escaping, leading to a 100% kill rate.
- Massive Catch Capacity (Up to 20,000 Flies): Engineered with a durable, UV-resistant clear bag that can hold several liters of captured flies and liquid bait before reaching its capacity.
- 100% Pesticide-Free & Eco-Safe: Utilizing a biological fermentation process to attract flies, this unit is safe for use around horses, cattle, and sensitive food-processing environments.
Ideal Applications
- Commercial Equestrian Centers: The industry standard for hanging outside stable blocks and tack rooms to protect valuable horses from summer fly surges.
- Smallholding & Poultry Farms: Perfect for placing around chicken runs and sheep kraals where fly-borne diseases like blowfly strike are a constant risk.
- Outdoor Event & Hospitality Zones: Ideal for rural wedding venues, golf clubs, and restaurant waste areas where a "hidden" and disposable fly solution is required.
- Agricultural Packing Sheds: A reliable primary tool for intercepting flies before they enter fruit or vegetable processing lines during the Gauteng harvest season.
Product Benefits
- Ultimate Biosecurity & Hygiene: Because the entire unit is discarded when full, there is zero risk of spilling "fly soup" or cross-contaminating farm equipment during a cleaning process.
- Rapid Activation: Simply pull up the top cap, add lukewarm water to the fill line, and hang; the bait begins to "plume" within 24 to 48 hours in the South African sun.
- Safe for Livestock: Since it contains no neurotoxins or chemical sprays, it will not harm beneficial insects like bees or affect the health of nearby livestock.
Pro Tip: To maximize the life of your Disposable Fly Catcher, hang it in a spot that receives at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight; the heat is what drives the fermentation process of the bait. Placement Note: Hang the bag 15 meters away from the area you want to protect. If you hang it too close to a doorway, you will inadvertently draw flies toward the building rather than away from it. When the bag is full or the liquid has dried up, simply seal the top and dispose of it in a refuse bin or bury it.
