The Oxygen Single Stage Regulator with Brass Bonnet is a heavy-duty, high-performance safety device engineered for the most demanding South African industrial and agricultural sectors. Fully compliant with the EN 2503 international safety standard, it is the primary choice for professional welders, cutters, and laboratory technicians who require a "bomb-proof" regulator. Unlike standard regulators with plastic or alloy components, the solid forged brass bonnet provides superior mechanical strength and resistance to internal pressure surges, ensuring a long service life in harsh workshop environments.
Key Performance Features
- Forged Brass Bonnet & Body: Constructed from high-density, corrosion-resistant brass to withstand high cylinder pressures and provide maximum structural integrity in high-heat zones.
- EN 2503 Safety Compliance: Independently tested to meet rigorous European and South African safety standards for pressure equipment, ensuring the unit can safely manage 300 bar inlet pressures.
- Dual-Gauge Precision Monitoring: Features easy-to-read, high-contrast gauges for both Cylinder Pressure (content) and Working Pressure (delivery), allowing for meticulous gas management.
- Sintered Bronze Inlet Filter: Equipped with a high-efficiency internal filter that traps microscopic particles and debris, protecting the sensitive internal valve seat from damage.
Ideal Applications
- Heavy-Duty Gas Cutting: Provides the stable, high-volume oxygen flow required for clean, efficient piercing and cutting of thick mild steel sections.
- Precision Gas Welding & Brazing: Offers the fine-tuned delivery pressure needed for delicate torch work on copper piping, HVAC systems, and automotive components.
- Industrial Fabrication Shops: The go-to regulator for busy workshops where durability and consistent performance are required for 8-hour shift cycles.
- On-Site Field Maintenance: Built to handle the "rough-and-tumble" of mobile repair units in the South African mining and agricultural sectors.
Product Benefits
- High-Strength Diaphragm: Features a reinforced synthetic diaphragm that offers exceptional sensitivity and rapid response to flow changes, preventing "pressure creep."
- Standard 5/8" BSP Inlet: Fully compatible with standard South African oxygen cylinders (Right-Hand Thread), ensuring a secure, leak-proof connection without the need for adapters.
- External Pressure Relief Valve: Includes a factory-set safety valve that automatically vents excess pressure in the event of an internal malfunction, protecting the user and downstream equipment.
Pro Tip: For maximum safety, always perform a "Creep Test" before starting work: close the torch valves, open the cylinder, and watch the delivery gauge. If the pressure continues to rise (creep), the internal seat may be damaged and requires servicing. Always ensure your hands and gloves are completely free of oil and grease when handling oxygen equipment, as pressurized oxygen reacts explosively with hydrocarbons.
