Glue Devil Contact Adhesive is a premium-quality, polychloroprene-based solvent adhesive engineered for high-strength bonding across a vast array of materials. Known for its “instant grab” properties, it eliminates the need for long-term clamping by creating a powerful, permanent bond the moment the two coated surfaces are pressed together.
Key Performance Features
- Instant High-Strength Bond: Formulated to provide immediate structural integrity, making it ideal for vertical applications or large-surface lamination where clamping is impractical.
- Superior Heat Resistance: Engineered to maintain its bond strength even when exposed to elevated temperatures, preventing delamination in sunny or warm environments.
- Flexible & Impact Resistant: Creates a tough yet elastic adhesive line that can withstand vibration, structural shifting, and thermal expansion.
- Excellent Water Resistance: Once fully cured, the bond is highly resistant to moisture, making it suitable for both interior and exterior repairs.
Ideal Applications
- Carpentry & Cabinetry: The industry standard for bonding decorative laminates (Formica), wood veneers, and edging strips to particle board or MDF.
- Footwear & Leatherwork: Perfect for repairing shoe soles, belts, and leather bags where flexibility is essential.
- Automotive Interiors: Ideal for re-attaching headliners, door panels, and rubber weather-stripping.
- Multi-Surface Repairs: Bonds powerfully to rubber, leather, wood, cork, felt, rigid PVC, metal, and certain foam rubbers.
Critical Application Steps (The “Double-Sided” Method)
Surface Prep: Ensure both surfaces are clean, dry, and free of oil or dust. Lightly sanding smooth surfaces will improve the mechanical bond.
- Coat Both Sides: Apply a thin, even layer of adhesive to both surfaces being bonded.
- The “Touch-Dry” Wait: Wait approximately 10–20 minutes until the adhesive is no longer “stringy” and feels dry to the touch (it should feel tacky but not stick to your finger).
- The Bond: Align the parts accurately (you only get one chance!) and press them together firmly. Apply maximum pressure from the center outward to remove air bubbles.
Pro Tip: For porous surfaces like end-grain wood or raw masonry, apply a “prime coat” of adhesive, let it dry completely, and then apply a second coat before bonding. This prevents the adhesive from being sucked into the material, ensuring a surface-to-surface bond.
